Warren County authorities have issued a warrant for a woman accused of hiding drugs under a child’s mattress at a home north of Foristell.
Rachel M. Gunning, 40, was charged June 25 with endangering the welfare of a child, felony drug possession, stealing and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The charges stem from an April investigation in which Warren County sheriff’s deputies connected Gunning to suspected methamphetamine found at a home on Mahogany Drive in the Incline Village subdivision. Gunning was also connected to purchases made using a stolen debit card, according to a sheriff’s department report.
Deputies were contacted April 13 by a household member who reported finding the drugs under the mattress of a 4-year-old child, according to the report. Gunning allegedly admitted to hiding the methamphetamine there.
Gunning also admitted to taking and using the debit card of another household member to purchase about $200 in items over the course of two weeks, the sheriff’s department said.
The warrant issued for Gunning includes authorization for her to be released on her own recognizance once she has been booked at the Warren County Jail and issued a court date.
