Ex-boyfriend jailed for explicit video sent to woman’s family

Local authorities have arrested and charged a Warren County man for allegedly harassing a woman and sending a sexually explicit video of her to the woman’s family.

Michael W. Stuart Jr., 49, has been charged with first-degree harassment, a felony, and could face additional charges, authorities said.

According to court documents, Warren County deputies received a complaint on July 2 from a woman who said that Stuart, her ex-boyfriend, had sent a sexually explicit video of her to her friends and family through Facebook. The victim provided deputies with screen shots showing the communications and the video being shared.

An investigator called Stuart over the phone and Stuart allegedly admitted to sending the video to the woman’s family, deputies reported.

The next day, deputies said they were contacted again by the victim, who was audibly distraught as she explained that she was suspended from work. Someone had contacted her boss to report allegedly inappropriate behavior.

Deputies made contact with the woman’s supervisor, who provided the phone number that they had been contacted from. It was the same number deputies had called to speak to Stuart. The supervisor said they did not at first realize Stuart was the one who had contacted them, and that allegations he had made were responsible for the female victim being suspended from work.

The supervisor provided deputies with text messages in which Stuart sent information in an alleged attempt to get the victim fired from her job.

A warrant was issued for Stuart’s arrest on July 14 for first-degree harassment, and he was taken into custody the same day. He is being held at the Warren County Jail.

Currently the harassment charge is the only criminal filing against Stuart. However, the sheriff’s department indicated he may also have violated Missouri’s law against nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images.

Warren County Prosecuting Attorney Kelly King said it is possible Stuart could face additional charges, but that her office hasn’t yet made that determination.
