Emogene "Emmie" Witthaus

Mrs. Emogene "Emmie" (Nee: Meyerotto) Witthaus of Wright City, MO, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021.  She was born February 4, 1928, in Armstrong, MO, to George and Cora Pearl (Nee: Shiflett) Meyerotto.  She had reached the age of 93 years.

Emmie married the love of her life, Albert Fred Witthaus, August 20, 1950.  They were married for 52 wonderful years before his passing, December 16, 2003.  To this union, one son, Gary was born.  Emmie worked as a secretary for most of her life.  She was a member of the Wright City UCC for many years.  She enjoyed being a part of the Wrights and Lefts Square Dancing group and the Wright City Garden Club.  She always spent her time volunteering for various charities in the community throughout her life.  She also enjoyed waterskiing when she was younger.  What she loved more than anything was spending time with her family.

Emmie was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; parents, George and Cora; siblings, Mary Miller, Dolly Ordelheide, Fredrick (Billy) Meyerotto.  She is survived by her son, Gary Witthaus (Shelly); grandchildren, Christopher Witthaus (Ashton), Casey Kotarba (Wes); great-grandchildren, Logan Kotarba, Harrison Witthaus, Callaway Witthaus; many other friends and family.

We will celebrate the Life of Emogene "Emmie" Witthaus, Friday, September 24, 2021, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, MO.  Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by interment at Wright City Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to The Alzheimer's Association, c/o Martin Funeral Home, 510 East Main St. Warrenton, MO. 63383.  Online condolences may be made at www.martinfuneral.net.
