Leaders of Element Church announced this week that the church will close its campus in Warrenton. The church, which had been holding services in the Warrenton Cinema, announced that this past weekend was its final service at that location.
“We are, of course, very sad about this, but it was a decision made as a result of the ongoing situation with COVID-19 and much prayer,” said Community Engagement Coordinator Cory Lambert. “We believe this to be the current path that the Lord is taking us down as we have recognized a more pressing need to develop and grow our virtual/online platform. We have seen a tremendous surge in attendance as people continue to observe and abide by the social distancing guidelines. We have also seen many people from across the country as well as internationally, begin to watch our services online.”
Pastor Cisco Martinez, formerly the Warrenton Campus pastor, has been promoted to an executive pastor position and has transitioned into a role as the virtual/online campus pastor.
“We want the Warrenton community to know that we are not abandoning them,” Lambert said. “We are not only going to continue supporting all of the efforts we have started in Warrenton and the surrounding communities, but we also aim to do more!”
That includes continued partnerships for food distribution, community service and community festivals.
