Candidates wishing to run for leadership positions on local government, school, and emergency district boards have just a few days left to register for April elections.
The deadline to file for elections is Tuesday, Jan. 19.
In the last week, Warrenton Ward 3 Alderman Gary Miller submitted his candidacy for re-election, while southern county resident Arlie Berg filed for a seat on the Marthasville Ambulance Board of Directors.
Those who want to run for office should contact the city or district they’re interested in. Districts require specific information about whether a candidate is qualified to run, as well as a filing fee, before placing a name on the ballot.
With so little time left, candidates should act quickly to ensure all their paperwork is in order by the deadline.
Below are the current candidates running for office.
Mayor — Incumbent Eric Schleuter is challenged by newcomer Sheryl Cullom.
Alderman, Ward 1 — Newcomer Joshua Poore is the only candidate thus far. Incumbent Cheryl Dyer is not seeking re-election.
