Warren County authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man suspected of a September 2019 assault in Wright City.
Ian C. Forister, 49, of Wright City, was charged July 22 with second-degree domestic assault and property damage. According to a Warren County Sheriff’s Department report, Forister is suspected of assaulting a woman at a home on Trails End Court in Wright City on Sept. 6, 2019.
The victim told sheriff’s deputies Forister had assaulted her after an argument that escalated when she attempted to call 911, according to the report. The woman alleged Forister grabbed and choked her, preventing her from breathing. He allegedly released her in order to stomp on her cell phone when she dropped it.
Forister fled when the woman began yelling for help, she told deputies.
An officer observed dark bruises and red finger prints on the woman’s neck, as well as other signs of injury on her face and chest, according to the report.
Deputies said they were unable to locate Forister at the time of the incident.
