Breaking news: Inmate administered Narcan, taken from Warren County Courthouse

Posted

Multiple ambulances were called to the Warren County Courthouse early Friday afternoon.

According to Warren County Sheriff Kevin Harrison, two inmates "fell out," he said and were not responsive. Narcan was administered by the Jail staff, and they came around, he said.

One person was seen exiting the Warren County Courthouse entrance on a stretcher and placed into an ambulance. He was screaming in apparent pain so loudly, he could be heard from outside the ambulance.

Harrison said he was being transported to the hospital for evaluation.

Harrison said an unknown substance was smuggled into the jail and taken. It appeared to be a piece of mail dipped in something. He also said the investigation is ongoing.

The incident appeared to have concluded about 12:45 as one ambulance and a Warrenton Fire Protection District truck both left the scene.
