Warren County voters will have a few decisions to make next Tuesday when they head to the polls.

Tuesday, April 2, is Election Day for city governments, school districts, and emergency service districts. Several of those entities are asking for approval of funding measures to support public services.

The ballot features nine contested races and six ballot questions. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Absentee ballots may be cast in the county clerk’s office, located at 101 Mockingbird Lane in Warrenton, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 30. Information on absentee ballots may be obtained by calling the office at 636-456-3331.

Below are the contested races and ballot questions that Warren County residents will see, depending on the city and districts in which they live.

In Subdistrict 5, which covers Warrenton south of I-70 and Truesdale, incumbent Charles (Jack) Dempsey is running against Kevin Swofford.

There is one contested election for the Marthasville Fire Protection District Board of Directors where incumbent Robert Koch is opposed by Elias (Eli) McDonald.

Ballot questions

Truesdale voters will decide on a ballot referendum that asks voters to increase the city’s sales tax by one-half of one percent with the additional revenue going to the police department.

Innsbrook also has a ballot question asking voters to approve an increase in the annual business permit fee from $30 to $100 with the additional money going into the general revenue fund.
