7 Wildcats earn EMO baseball honors

Seven Wright City baseball players were recently named to the Eastern Missouri Conference teams. 

Five Wildcats were named to the Eastern Missouri Conference first team. Nick Moore and Bryce Williams were unanimous first team all-conference selections. Moore was a unanimous first team selection as an infielder. Moore finished conference play with a .613 batting average. He recorded 19 hits, 10 RBIs and 21 runs scored in nine conference games. Williams finished conference play with a .600 batting average. Williams also had 10 RBIs. He led Wright City with five doubles in conference games. 

Senior Hayden Waters and sophomores Duan McRoberts and Jake Orf were also first team all-conference selections. Waters and McRoberts were named to the first team as outfielders. Waters finished conference play with a .476 batting average. He hit two home runs in conference play. He also had 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored. McRoberts hit .485 in EMO games. He finished tied for third on the team in conference games with 14 runs scored. 

Orf was named to the EMO first team as an infielder. Orf finished conference play with a .542 batting average. He led Wright City with 15 RBIs in conference games. He scored 14 runs. 

Trey Brakensiek and Jake Mitts were named second team all-conference. Brakensiek earned two wins in four starts in conference games. He struck out 21 batters in 14 innings. 

Mitts finished conference play with a .400 batting average at the plate. He scored 13 runs for the Wildcats. Mitts also pitched in four games on the mound in conference play. Mitts logged a 3.68 ERA in conference games. 

Wright City finished the season with an 8-2 record in Eastern Missouri Conference games.
