Mrs. Shirley Mae Lucks

Mrs. Shirley Mae Lucks, (nee: Davis) of St. Charles, formally of Warrenton, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Shirley was born on September 4, 1934, in Fagus, MO., to the late Shirley and Josephine (nee: Castleman). She had reached the age of 86 years and 25 days.

Shirley was married to Thomas Bennett Lucks on September 6, 1952, in Pocahontas, AR. They spent 66 wonderful years together before his passing in 2019. Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her three children, Mark, Joe, and Beverly. She was a long time member of the Women Progressive Farmers Association. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and hunting for mushrooms. Shirley was an award-winning quilter, she also won awards for her canning. She was a seamstress, sewing for the Women’s Exchange. She enjoyed sewing and made each of her granddaughter's dresses, as well as making her daughter’s wedding dress. Shirley and Tom were members of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Warrenton. She was very active in the church and helped with Bible School, pre-school, and in the kitchen. Shirley was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. She enjoyed going to the games and watching them on TV.

Shirley Mae Lucks was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom; her parents, Shirley and Josephine; one sister, Emma Roberts; one brother, Bobby Davis. She is survived by her children, Mark Lucks and wife Kim, Joe Lucks and wife Sandy, Beverly Lemon and husband Tom; 7 grandchildren, Tyler Lucks and wife Amy, Kelsey Pitts and husband Boczak, Chad Lucks and wife Denise, Heather Lemon, Mackenzie Lucks, Matthew Handlang and wife Kim, Michelle Hachman and husband Wade; 10 great-grandchildren, Mickey, Trey, Rex, Gia, Anika, Boczak, Remington, Grant, Claire, Adam; three sisters, Bettie Beck, Ruth Lewis and husband Larry, Christine Green and husband Rick; other relatives and many friends.

A visitation for Mrs. Lucks will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. A private family burial will follow.
