Motorcycle crashes into car; two people injured

Two people were taken to a hospital in St. Louis after their motorcycle crashed into a vehicle in rural Warren County on Sunday, July 18.

Kevin  E. Ballowe, 62, and Virginia L. Ballowe, 65, both of Villa Ridge, suffered moderate to serious injuries in the crash, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report. The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway M and Highway O around 11:30 a.m.

The highway patrol stated the Ballowes were riding a 2017 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail motorcycle on Highway O. When their vehicle reached the intersection, they allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign, the highway patrol said. The motorcycle entered the intersection and struck the front of a 2020 Honda Civic traveling on Highway M.

Both riders on the motorcycle were wearing helmets during the crash. They were both transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

The driver of the Honda, Caleb P. McDaniel, 19, of Villa Ridge, did not have any reported injuries.
