The driver of a motorcycle was hospitalized Sunday, June 30, after a head-on collision with a car on the North Outer Road of Interstate 70 in Wright City. The crash happened at 7 p.m.

Jeffrey L. Hoke, 55, Wright City, sustained serious injuries, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report. He was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

Hoke was westbound on the North Outer Road on a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. A 2017 Kia Optima traveling the opposite direction allegedly turned in front of Hoke and the vehicles collided, throwing Hoke from the motorcycle. Hoke was wearing a helmet, the patrol said.

The driver of the Kia, Edward A. Ball, 26, St. Louis, was not reported to have injuries.
