A St. Charles County man was charged with second-degree domestic assault for allegedly punching and choking a woman.
Joshua Dillon, 20, St. Charles, was arrested March 31, according to Warrenton police. He was taken to the Warren County Jail and later released on a $10,000 bond.
Police said they were called to an apartment on East Booneslick Road late March 30 by a woman who reported a physical dispute with Dillon. The woman told authorities Dillon had come to the apartment to collect personal items when they got into an argument.
The woman reportedly pushed Dillon, at which point police allege Dillon began punching the woman in the face and body. Two others at the apartment pulled Dillon away, but he pulled free and assaulted the woman again, at one point grabbing her neck, police said.
After Dillon and the woman were separated again, Dillon left the scene. Authorities said he was later located by Wentzville Police and returned to Warrenton, where he admitted to being in a fight with the woman.
An officer who spoke to the woman after the altercation reported that she had bruises and scratches on her arms, shoulders and legs, as well as a bump on her forehead that was forming a bruise. Officers said she also had marks on her throat where she said she was grabbed by Dillon.
The domestic assault charge against Dillon is a Class D felony. He had an arraignment scheduled for April 10 in Warren County Circuit Court.
