9/11 ceremony

Local first responders enter a 9/11 ceremony held in their honor on Sept. 9, 2018, at the Wright City Church of the Nazarene.

A 9/11 remembrance service and appreciation dinner will be held this Sunday, Sept. 8.

The Wright City Church of the Nazarene invites all first responders who serve Wright City to participate at 10 a.m. for displays, service and dinner. Everyone in the community is invited to join together in the event to remember and honor.

“The Wright City Church of the Nazarene recognizes the importance of remembering the tragic events that happened on Sept. 11, 2001,” said Pastor Joe Purl. “We also believe in recognizing those who serve among us each day as first responders.”

Those who will speak at the service are Wright City business owner Kelly Hill and Presiding Circuit Court Judge Jason Lamb.

Displays this year include fire trucks, police cars, ambulance vehicles, landing and display of medical helicopter on-site, Wright City Fire District ladder truck, bagpiper, and demos by Wright City fire and 911 dispatchers.

Esther Marie Photography will also be at the church to take photos of families.
