The Missouri State Highway Patrol said one person was injured in a July 31 crash involving a deer.

Kyle C. Horstmann, 27, Warrenton, received minor injuries in the crash, according to a preliminary report. The highway patrol said Horstmann was driving a 2017 Ford Taurus on Highway M near Pine Crest Drive when the vehicle struck a deer at 1:15 p.m.

The patrol said the deer “went airborne” and struck another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 driven by Randy S. Lewis, 56, Wright City. Lewis was not reported to be injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
