An area man received serious injuries in a July 31 crash at Stracks Church Road and the Interstate 70 North Outer Road.

Michael P. Stanek, 59, Hawk Point, was taken to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis after the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report.

Another driver, Joseph R. Ransom, 50, St. Charles, had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, .

The patrol said Stanek was eastbound on the North Outer Road in a 2005 Ford F150 at 7:50 a.m., and failed to yield at the intersection with Stracks Church Road. The rear of Stanek’s vehicle was struck by a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe crossing the intersection, the patrol said.

The Hyundai was driven by Donnie D. Nolte, 82, Wright City. The patrol reported no injuries to Nolte in the crash.

After the impact, the Ford truck spun across the intersection and struck the vehicle driven by Ransom, which was stopped at the opposite stop sign, the patrol said. Ransom was driving a 2015 Chevy Express Van, and was wearing a seat belt.
