The suspect in a domestic assault was illegally in possession of a firearm and allegedly threatened to harm law enforcement officers, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
Donnell L. Wilder, 23, Wright City, was arrested May 15 after deputies were called to the 28000 block of Orchard Farm Circle, according to a sheriff’s department arrest report.
He is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and third-degree domestic assault.
Prior to the arrest, a 911 caller reported that a black male with no shirt, later identified as Wilder, was in possession of a firearm and was threatening to kill law enforcement officers when they arrived to the assault call, authorities said.
Multiple witnesses told deputies they had seen Wilder putting a firearm into the waistband of his pants. A record check showed Wilder is not allowed to possess a firearm due to a previous felony conviction, authorities said. A .40 caliber handgun allegedly was seized from his possession.
The victim of an alleged domestic assault and multiple witnesses also told officers Wilder had punched the female victim and pushed her to the ground.
Wilder was incarcerated at the Warren County Jail under a $15,000 bond. He has an arraignment set for May 29 in Warren County Circuit Court.
