Old Highway 47 bridge

The old Highway 47 bridge over the Missouri River has been stripped of all possible material prior to a demolition that will drop the remaining pieces of the bridge into the river.

Crews will demolish the old Highway 47 bridge over the Missouri River Thursday, April 11, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The time of the implosion has not yet been set but the information will be released closer to the date.

The public can watch the demolition from the Washington Riverfront Park.

Marschel Wrecking LLC, Fenton, is the contractor for the bridge demolition.
