Woman accused of supplying drugs in fatal overdose

A Warrenton woman was arrested Monday for her alleged role in a fatal drug overdose that killed a 17-year-old boy.

Police said the suspect, identified as Brigit L. Kleen, 35, of the 700 block of E. Booneslick, supplied xanax and another drug identified as “roxy” to the teen. The alleged incident occurred in a home in the 100 block of Oak Street in Warrenton on Nov. 13.

The teen died Nov. 15 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis.

On Jan. 2, Warren County Prosecutor Kelly King charged Kleen with felony distribution of a controlled substance. Kleen’s bond was set at $25,000.

According to the probable cause statement, Kleen was with the teen for most of the day on Nov. 13 and she admitted to police that she provided Xanax to him. A witness at the home watched Kleen sell six to seven xanax to the boy for $10.

On Nov. 17 two men, ages 24 and 27, were arrested after police executed a search warrant at the home on Oak Street. Police reported they found heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana on the men.
